Albino Penis Envy (APE Cubensis) is a cultivar species of Psilocybe Cubensis, a popular and best-known magic mushroom for its phallic shape (long stem and bulbous cap). As the names indicate, the ripe shrooms appear quite penile, although this is true for several types. However, different species aren’t quite like this particular mushroom.

The APE is a pale-capped sub-variety from PE, reputedly among the best-known varieties of Psilocybe. It may be challenging to grow and therefore is rare; however, the APE is popular among psychonaut users.

Use caution when you consume high amounts of this fungi. Psychedelics act differently based on the person and dosage, especially with potent hybrid strains intended to have high amounts of Psilocybin content. Start with a smaller dose with this strain of mushroom.

Effects of using Albino PE Magic Mushrooms

The PE variants are generally regarded as the most potent strain of P. Cubensis, and Albino PE is considered the strongest Penis Envy variant. These effects have been described glowingly with euphoria and deep thoughts. However, P. cubensis generally has variably high potency, and the effects of eating mushrooms vary based on setting and environment. This means that mushrooms cannot always predict their quality. APE is consumed raw, in cooking or as tea, among other ways.

In addition, there is evidence proving Penis Envy’s greater strength. The average potency in these ghost “donkey dongs” is 50 to 100 percent greater than your typical Psilocybe cubensis.

Albino Penis Envy Characteristics

Albino PE is a sex hybrid from the Penis Envy and Albino PF types of Psilocybe cubensis. Lacking the gold-coloured caps seen on most other strains, Albino PE caps are a white and blueish tone, turning into a gorgeous silver blue when dry. APE will grow well and produce good quality. However, the data is presently weak, even with many claims this mushroom is stronger than the original PE.

About P. cubensis, the Parent of the APE.

Understanding APE is as simple as understanding P. cubensis, the wild fungus from which it grew. APE remains P. cubensis, a tiny mushroom with long – usually long – coloured caps. Often stained with fallen spores, it possesses an orange ring and black spots. It’s blue. Both stems are bruised. The APE cap is almost white. Wild type.

It primarily eats and sometimes fruits from the cattle dung of grazing cows and the manure beneath the excrement of other animal species. The wild type grew freely in well-watered tropical and sub-tropical zones on most continents.

With the help of Stephen pollock, Mckenna’s spores were used to create many sub-variants, including a mutation of Penis Envy uncut. These two mycologists discovered many mushroom strains in their own right, but this strain is a masterpiece of Steven Pollock.

Penis Envy Magic Mushroom History

The history of psilocybe Penis envy mushroom is probably one of the most questioned origins of Psilocybe cubensis. In 2009 the most essential article to explain what led to the formation of Penis Envy was published in Vice by anthropologist Hamilton Morris.

Morris interviews Richard Guitierrez (Rich Gee) about the history of this psilocybin shroom. His story can support the lineage of this mushroom.

In a podcast published by the company on its Patreon back in June 2021, Morris admits to being misled by the infamous mycologist John Allen (aka Mushroom John). Initially, Terrence McKenna had taken spore prints from the Amazon, but they were then given new life by Steven Pollock.

Growing APE Mushrooms

The growth and cultivation of Albino PE are a little different than other psychedelic mushrooms. Cubensis generally does not require much growth, although APE is the exception. Some problems arise as it seldom generates fertile spores and usually needs other propagation means.

It is special in food as it often does badly in popular substrates such as cakes. Even if everything is correct, APE grows very slowly, and flushes generally are small. The result is seen as a novelty, something that people who are aiming to sell will never have to bother about and something nobody is going to be able to learn from this. APE is an excellent choice for experienced growers who want to be challenged with really powerful shrooming at the end if necessary.
